Connected File Groups is one of Understand's built-in architectures — automatic ways to group a codebase (by directory, git history, language, …) for graphs, metrics, and dependency analysis.

Connected File Groups

Languages: Any
Group files that are connected by dependencies

From the file dependency graph, group files linked by dependencies in either direction. No dependencies cross between groups. In graph terms, the groups are the weakly connected components of the file dependency graph. Groups are numbered from largest to smallest. Files with no dependencies to or from other files are grouped together under Isolated Files.

The Disconnected File Groups and Percent of Files in Largest Connected Group metrics summarize these groups.
